THE STORY:
Backgammon is one of the oldest games in the world — its roots reaching back to ancient Persia, where it was known as nard, played by candlelight across generations before it ever had a board with a name. L'Eterna Vacanza's founder, whose own heritage moves across Iran, Italy, Colombia, and China, didn't set out to make a bag. She set out to build a portable piece of that inheritance — something to carry a centuries-old ritual into a modern hand. Each L'Bag Gammon begins with full-grain bovine leather sourced in Italy, then is handcrafted in Mexico, where every stitch, fold, and hidden compartment is shaped by hand until the bag becomes the board.
THE L'BAG GAMMON ROSSO — rosso, Italian for red — carries that lineage in color as much as in craft. Open the flap and the interior reveals a cotton-lined backgammon board complete with fifteen black and fifteen cream pieces, two pairs of dice, and a doubling cube, each nestled into place by hand. Closed, it moves through the world as a clean, structured shoulder bag. Opened, it becomes an invitation to slow down — a game passed hand to hand for a thousand years, waiting inside.
This is a bag built from four cultures and one ancient game, carried into the world one journey at a time.
